FAQ
You should find the answer to all your questions on the event here!
This experience is only available to people over the age of 18 years old.
Yes, but we would recommend you interact with the other participants in order to influence and advance the story-line.
The more you are, the more scenes you can follow and information you can gather at the same time. Your votes will hold more weight, and you will have a greater influence on the ending you’ll unlock.
Unfortunately not. The local is not adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility.
The tickets will remain valid until the situation allows for new dates to be chosen.
So far, we have only scheduled 16 sessions, on top of the possibility of organizing special sessions for companies, upon request.
Water and ice tea will be available. There won’t be any catering service or alcoholic drinks available during the experience.
It is imperative that each participant has read, understood and accepted the behavior and safety rules. For those who asked for a specific role, it is important that you have read it and understood everything beforehand.
You will be cast as either members of the US congress or the USSR party. It is recommended that you wear evening dress. You can however come dressed as you are if you’d prefer.
The exact location is a secret and will be sent to you once your registration has been confirmed. It is located in Geneva, and is less than 15 minutes from Cornavin train station by public transport.
Yes. It will be locked for the duration of the experience. Do not lose your ticket!
Most sessions are held in French, but some of them can be held in English. Other languages will only be used for contextualization.
An account is automatically created upon each person’s registration. This account is linked to the email address used to sign up for the event. It gathers in one place all the relevant information for the game as well as your discoveries and choices through the different game sessions you’ll attend.
Unfortunately not. You can however sell your slot on our social networks. Don’t forget to let us know if this happens.
Simply contact us on contact@yourworld-xp.com or through the numbers at the bottom of the page. You can find all the important preliminary information directly under the Company page.
Depending on what the person has done, they will either be given a warning or escorted off the premises.
You can get discounts if you choose to either come as a group or come on different dates. Choose the best option when buying your tickets. Be careful: once you’ve registered for a specific date, you can not change.
Not unless everyone involved has given explicit consent. It would for example be possible, during a scene where your characters are really close, to take the hand of an actor or actress and hold it, but only after asking the other person if they agree. Any contact other than to the hands, shoulders and arms is strictly prohibited.
Of course! You should however provide everyone’s email addresses, as all relevant information will be provided to participants through this channel.
No, as you are not supposed to touch anyone else without explicit consent and we haven’t planned on having you crawl around the floor.
You can order extra watches upon registration. They will be prepared in time for the session you signed up for. Bear in mind however that only one watch can be linked to your YourWorld experience.
No. We want participants to live the experience to the fullest, and to focus on what is happening rather than on filming. Also, the team reserves their image rights. Any person who doesn’t respect this rule will be directly escorted to the exit and the media will have to be deleted on the spot.
No. We use History as a source of inspiration for our screenplays. The context is heavily influenced by the Cuba Missile crisis but none of the names or characters really existed. In our universe, racism, sexism and other -isms do not apply. You will see women who are generals. Another world…
At the moment, the sanitary authorities for the Canton de Genève do not require participants to wear a mask. However, as the experience takes place indoors, it is recommended to vulnerable people to protect themselves accordingly.
Our universe presents the actors as androids that were programmed for the sake of the story. Obviously, they are humans and all courtesy rules apply to them. While reading, feel free to use either actor/actress, comedian or android as synonyms.
These notions do not exist in our universe. Any discriminatory act will be grounds for a first warning. In case of repeated offense, the person will be escorted off the premises.
You can, up to a certain extent, be included in interactions with the actors. In a standard role (spectactor), you are provided with a few elements of the story, but not many. You are simply an important member of Congress or the Party. In more complicated roles (participant), you will have a relationship with one or two actors who you can easily influence. In the most involved roles (co-actor/actress), you will play the role of a character who might be asked to weigh in on some decisions by the other comedians on more personal matters. Remember, this choice has to be made upon registration.
1) First, all participants will have to vote three times during the experience. This will have a strong impact and happens through the use of the YourWorld watch and votation system.
2) You can also support a specific actor during a scene by raising a coloured paper that corresponds to his or her character’s.
3) Finally, between scenes, there will be some moments when you can investigate and reveal secrets. Each of the words you use, the choices you make might tip the experience.
It doesn’t. Our experience is based on reality but doesn’t take sides.
No, the voting mechanisms are there to allow you to influence the story without having to utter a single word. Being shy is not an obstacle to this experience.
Our androids are programmed to ignore comments that are dissonant to the universe of the game. In other words, they will answer with the phrase “This means nothing to me”, thus letting you know that this element is extradiegetic. Please note that if a participant purposefully tries to disrupt the experience by repeatedly making comments dissonant to the universe, he or she will be given a warning and then escorted off the premises.
As the experience takes place indoors, extreme claustrophobia might be problematic. The Cold War context can require the use of replicas of firearms, firecrackers, fake blood and simulated violence.
Classical theater happens on and around a stage, with the omnipresence of a fourth wall. Here, the whole room is the stage. Actors play in different areas at the same time.
A script that has many possible branches and thorough practice allow us to create an overall logic between your actions and their impact on the story. Thus, you can truly explore the arborescence of the possibilities.
The goal is not to be the first one out. The elements you might discover will help you influence the storyline and the actors. Elements that are part of the game are clearly identified as such. You won’t need to take apart furniture or search the characters.
Your impact on the story is real. You don’t only find out who the culprit is: you can change the whole storyline. For example, why shouldn’t the culprit win, against all odds?
Interactions won’t have any real impact on your character. It’s up to the actor to react to your suggestions. You don’t have to play a role, even though you’re most welcome to, if you want to.
